Is HR Leadership the Marine Corps Way Still The Way?

Stephen Meyer, CEO of Business 21 Publishing is one of my favorite authors.  One of his colleagues at B21, Dave Newman recently posted a classic, entitled "HR Leadership the Marine Corps Way"

If you haven't seen this before, it's worth a look; if you have, it's worth another visit.  It's based upon SEMPER FI: Business Leadership the Marine Corps Way by formerSemper_fi Marines Rod Walsh and Dan Carrison. In the book, they put forth lessons the business world can learn from the United States Marine Corps.

The premise of this is that whenever groups of people are assembled with a common purpose, there will always be a need for leadership. With more than 200 years of experience developing leaders "throughout the ranks," the Marine Corps has suggestions especially worthy of consideration.

Do these principles still apply today?  Check it out, and let me know you opinion?
